Source note
BOURGOGNE (Madame de), born de Clarimbault, daughter of the Marechal de Clarimbault and of his wife, a Rastignac; she was the mother of Claire de Bourgogne, the celebrated Vicomtesse de Beauseant, and thus the link of kinship between the Beauseants and Eugene de Rastignac. From Anne-Marie Meininger's genealogy of the Comedie humaine (1987), panels 7-8.
